Skills and best qualities
While being a full-time college student, I have maintained two to three jobs throughout my years at Salve Regina. I have worked in retail boutiques in the town of Newport, Rhode Island, as well as working as a barista and waitress on the weekends. I love to work hard and devote as much time as possible to extracurricular activities because I thrive when I have a lot on my plate. I enjoy working with people face to face as well as making an impact online through my social networking profiles; when I feel my own personal work is making an impact on someone, whether its styling a customer or inspiring them through photography, that is the ultimate reward.
I have been an intern with CollegeFashionista since my first semester Sophomore year; I started as a Style Guru, which is their entry position. Every month I chose an article to write about and supplied my own photography for my articles; I did this for my entire sophomore year. The summer before I began my junior year, I was hired as one of their Social Media Interns. In this position I was in charge of supplying the company with social media promotion posts as well as content for their website and social media platforms; I was also selected from a large group of applicants to do product promotion for Palmer’s beauty company.
My internship with Libby Kirwin, while short lived, was highly beneficial for me. I contributed blog content for the company’s website and was in charge of the student portion of the blog. I learned how to use WordPress further than my preexisting knowledge of the platform and worked with their head of marketing and advertising; working at this company sparked my passion for advertising and photography.
My current internship with Aaptiv has been an incredible experience so far. I have worked side by side with the Community Manager, Jessica Schwab, who I meet with weekly via Skype where she assigns projects for me to complete. I run the customer service program for the company and have full access to the company’s database, which I understand is a lot of responsibility. Working for this company has been a great opportunity for me and I look forward to starting a marketing project with Jessica this spring.
I have worked in retail since I was 16 years old, which created my love for fashion and the industry; it also showed me that I have a real talent in communicating with people. Studying English and Communications in college has been incredibly beneficial for me because it has helped me strengthen my writing skills and shown me that I want to work in marketing, advertising, editorial and/or social media and content creation. I realize that is a few different fields to want to be involved in, but I enjoy doing the work that goes along with these industries, and I believe I have a knack for it.
- As a college student, I am very used to seeing social media used to post pictures related to partying and drinking; I use my social media (primarily Instagram) for professional purposes, which I think makes me stand out from others my age. I have grown my audience organically from zero and meticulously curated my content by color, so everything is uniform and clean for potential employers and brand partners so that my personal brand aesthetic is apparent to anyone that visits my page.Account Link: @lynzrin

Examples of the work I have done
While studying English Communications, I have had multiple opportunities to write pieces for submission to the Mosaic, the student newspaper at Salve Regina University; I have been published three times while attending the university. During my time working as an Editorial Intern with Newport Life Magazine I had the opportunity to be published in three of their issues which include Newport Home, Best Read Guide and Best of Newport Awards 2017. My photography was also used for the magazine cover, feature photos, and art throughout the May/June 2017 issue which can be seen on this page.
While interning for CollegeFashionista, I was selected from a large group of interns to do two brand partnerships with Palmer’s, an all natural skin and beauty company. I was sent hundreds of samples to distribute and photograph for social media promotion and drive sales back to their website (Some of the photos can be seen in the photography sliders on this page). I am also a brand ambassador for Wander Beauty, a makeup company that launched at Sephora in the beginning of September 2016; I receive products weekly to photograph and post to my Instagram account, and the company uses my photos on their page as well, which reaches an audience of over 34k people (photos can be seen in the slider below). The rest of my photography can be found on the Photography page of this website.
